What is it: The six films featuring Spock and Kirk that were made for theaters all in one nice spot? Yes please. This includes STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE, STAR TREK: WRATH OF KHAN, STAR TREK: SEARCH FOR SPOCK, STAR TREK: THE VOYAGE HOME and STAR TREK: THE FINAL FRONTIER. All in high def and all looking awesome.
 
Special feature highlight: The Captain’s Summit filmed exclusively for this collection gathers William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes and Whoopi Goldberg that share candid insights and more about working with one another and how the films and series affected their lives.

 
CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION – THE FIRST SEASON

What is it: The awesome crime series that features the craziest murders and deaths on TV makes its Blu-ray debut and looking great in high def. The first season took a while to find its feet but once it did it was off and running.
 
Special feature highlight: Unaired director’s cut of the pilot is a cool thing as it is extended and a nice different enough that watching it again is worthwhile.

What is it: The classic Western doesn’t get any better than this. Clint Eastwood in the roles that made him famous as the vengeful outlaw and this is one of the best.
 
Special feature highlight: Reconstructing the film featurette that looks at how they went about converting the film to high def and it can be watched while you are watching the film too.

 
UNDERWORLD TRILOGY

Price: $92.98
 
What is it: All three action films including the new one starring Rhona Mitra are collected here and these are great films to have in high def as they showcase the technology perfectly with good special effects and action.
 
Special feature highlight: The two older movies have all the same special features from before, but the new film has four featurettes and more that are new.

 
Got that Blu Feeling
While these aren’t the spotlights of the week, by no means should you pass them up. Add them to your Netflix queue or there are certainly some titles here that would make a great addition to your collection.
 
  • FARGO – The funny and brutal film about murders in Wisconsin comes to high def.
  • TAKEN – This really good action flick about a father who kicks a slew of ass to get his daughter back is also available in standard def.
  • WAYNE’S WORLD – This isn’t going to shock and awe you with special effects but here it is to add to your growing BD collection.
  • WAYNE’S WORLD 2 – So is the subpar sequel.
  • MAJOR LEAGUE – The baseball comedy also makes its high def debut.
  • WITHOUT A PADDLE – The comedy is on Blu-ray now, for those that demanded it. Not sure why but here it is.
  • THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY – Not really a great movie to have in high def as there isn’t any action or anything but still it is worth adding to your catalog.
  • FORCE 10 FROM NAVARONE – The follow up to THE GUNS OF NAVARONE this one starring Robert Shaw and Harrison Ford about another group of commandos tasked with blowing up another set of awesome guns.
  • S.DARKO – The follow up to DONNIE DARKO focuses on the experiences of his sister and her strange trips and on standard def as well.
  • BIG – Tom Hanks shows how good of an actor he really is in this great film now on Blu-ray
  • WAR HERO COLLECTION – A series of collections are being released from MGM and Fox Home Entertainment. This collection features PATTON, BEHIND ENEMY LINES and RESCUE DAWN.
  • FUNNY GUY COLLECTION – Featuring NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, OFFICE SPACE and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.
  • JOCK COLLECTION – The three films include HOOSIERS, ROCKY and DODGEBALL.
  • ACTION HERO COLLECTION – Featuring THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, I, ROBOT and TERMINATOR.
  • COWBOY COLLECTION – The three films here include BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY and MAGNIFICENT SEVEN.
  • ROCK STAR COLLECTION – The three films here include THIS IS SPINAL TAP, WALK THE LINE and AIRHEADS.
  • LICENSE TO KILL – Timothy Dalton wasn’t the best James Bond and this wasn’t the best film but here it is in high def if you are interested.
  • THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN – The classic James Bond film makes its high def debut.
  • BLACK SHEEP – Chris Farley was a comedic genius and this was one of his better films, now in high def.
