THE SKINNY: Big news from Fox Broadcasting winter television critic’s session -- Entertainment President Kevin Reilly has confirmed that PRISON BREAK will be ending after the end of this season.
“PRISON BREAK had a hell of a run and this is just at the end of that run,” says Reilly. “This will be the last year of the show. That was a high wire act from minute one. I think some people who even like the show were like, ‘hey, this is great. How can you keep it going?’ So I think we put that one in the win column, but it just got down to the point where a lot of the stories have been told. So we’re gonna finish strong.”
Of course don’t fret, Fox plans on allowing the producers to wrap things up in a proper fashion – something some shows never get an opportunity for.
“Well we’ve got out remaining batch of four episodes and then there’s a couple that they’re contemplating doing in addition,” admits Reilly who hasn’t made a decision if they will air before the season is up.
As for Fox’s hit new J.J. Abrams series FRINGE, Reilly is very happy with the numbers and a Season Two looks very likely.
“I already know FRINGE is a keeper,” he says.

Fringe is such a great show! I look forward to it every week. I really hope it comes back for season 2. I think it has a great chance for a second season. I am a HUGE fan and Fringe is just so awesome!

fringe is great but so is prison break. Keep the action and these stars going just change the name to the Corporation and the story lines the lines the same, it is terrific. FOX is making strong headways towards the top of the major networks, when they have a winner, the shouldn't fall backwards. myles1616@aol.com

Fringe a keeper....good to hear. ABC cancelling Eli Stone is a mistake. There isn't much to watch on TV anymore. At least Fox has the guts to keep Fringe for a second season.
