This time, the popular girls are taking it all the way to the stage. RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN director Andy Fickman is developing a musical production based on the 1988 teen comedy HEATHERS.
Fickman's REEFER MADNESS partner Kevin Murphy will be writing the lyrics and the book. Tony nominated LEGALLY BLONDE composer Larry O'Keefe is signed on as well.
Andy Cohen, J. Todd Harris, Amy Powers, Fickman, Murphy, and O'Keefe are producing. Denise Di Novi, who produced the movie, is exec producing.
The original film starred Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, and Shannen Doherty, and followed four trendsetting girls at a high school in Ohio.
