At the end of last week’s episode, Peter received a visit from a future Hiro, decked out in full combat wear, with facial hair and carrying what appears to be a sword of some sort. A cool plotline taken right from X-MEN “Days of Future Past” but it works as we get a slight glimpse of what the future might be, which is always a fun thing.
However, the most interesting thing is how did this Japanese man who speaks only English and is carefree and fun loving go to such a hard-jawed, straight shooter in what seems to be a short amount of time given the future Hiro’s youth. If it follows suit we probably won’t see too many visits from the future Hiro, although we may see some sort of apocalyptic vision from someone.
I’m finding Peter to be one of the best characters on the series, I love that his powers are that he inherits the powers of other super powered people when he gets around them. This is how Hiro was able to stop time yet was able to talk with him and he was able to finish the painting without having to shoot up in order to do it. At first it seemed Peter was going to be the weak link, the one without powers at all but now he could very well be the most powerful of them all. I can’t wait until he meets the Mysterious Man and inherits his powers. Won’t that just be incredibly interesting.
What is also interesting is that the pieces are coming together as are the heroes, by coincidence or by plan. Issac and Peter now find themselves akin to one another and focused on the same goal. It will be interesting to see if they are able to convince the others to join the cause or will Peter’s brother continue to be smarmy in his actions. Save the cheerleader, save the world. Methinks her father may be anything but that.
Speaking of the good Senator, the Nikki/Senator fall out continues with the Senator continue to act slimy, will he end up being a “bad guy” along with the stripper? I hope eventually we will see some sort of shake out where the good and evil characters face off. Hopefully, it will be a slow burn toward a good season finale cliffhanger. Regardless, his intentions to win a congressional seat is outweighing any morals he seems to have – if he has any at all cheating on his wife and taking money illegally.
Meanwhile, Matt seems to have become the perfect husband after getting the lobotomized by the African-American mute giving his wife the royal treatment and getting a little in return. Obviously, toward the end of the episode he recovers his powers but again with the inability to tune multiple people out. Having confronted the Mysterious Man will he now be able to warn the rest in time?
The black guy obviously is the anomaly. Why is he helping the father of the cheerleader? And what are his exact powers that “hollow” people out? They can’t read his mind and the others at least so far are not able to stop him in any way. That begs the question as well as to who exactly is the dude who was shot a dozen times by the cop but got right up and took off. Is he connected to the cheerleader’s father? What’s his deal.
